Worship
A SPACE FOR WHAT MOVES US
Worship is not something a congregation experiences, it is something a congregation does – and worship means 'shaping worth.'
Worshipers come together to shape what is worthy in their lives – to find sustenance when they are aching, to celebrate when they are full, and to deepen emotionally, intellectually and spiritually, whenever they are moved. Music, poetry, ritual, story, and care for one another are vital for powerful worship.
Our view of worship is one of a shared reflection on the eternal verities: life, death, struggle, praise, justice, and mercy. The co-creation of liturgical beauty should address the issues of the day, our UU Tradition, great ideas and opportunities for service, and transformation. Other organizations feed the hungry, discuss books, examine our culture, and celebrate life, but religious communities do all of these, AND they worship together.
